Confirm the review destination for each location

Start with the correct destination, rather than the card artwork. Ask the Business Profile manager to supply the review link and verify the business name, address and location it opens. For a multi-location order, decide whether each branch needs its own link before creating the encoding list. Google documents sharing a review link or QR code to invite customer feedback. The physical item provides an access point; it does not guarantee reviews or search rankings. If you use a redirect on your own domain, assign responsibility for maintaining it throughout the life of the cards and stands.

Choose a card or stand around the interaction

A handheld card can be presented after a service or included in customer materials. An acrylic stand suits a fixed reception or service location where people have time to read the invitation. Share the available space, placement photographs and cleaning routine, then confirm dimensions, orientation, base and tap position on a sample. Include the counter material and nearby metal in the reading test. Compare the actual interaction, rather than the apparent size in a mockup: staff should be able to present it comfortably, and customers should have room to position a phone without interrupting the service.

  • Handheld cards: check handling, orientation and the printed invitation
  • Fixed stands: check footprint, viewing position and phone access
  • Multiple branches: use one location reference across artwork, links and packaging

Keep the NFC link, QR code and artwork aligned

Provide the final destination to the encoding team and review the NFC payload and QR artwork together. Android documents URI records within NDEF; the notification and opening experience still need testing on the intended phones. Printed wording can invite people to tap or scan to share their experience, without suggesting that a tap submits a review automatically. Scan the QR code on the finished material, checking its size, contrast and reflections. When a branch changes its destination, record a new data revision and recheck the artwork so the encoded link, printed code and location name remain aligned.

Test the complete journey and the invitation wording

Test both tap and scan on representative phones, confirm the correct location and stop at the review entry point; acceptance does not require posting test reviews. Google notes that customers need a Google Account to leave a review, so instant completion cannot be promised for every visitor. Invite feedback about genuine experiences. Do not offer discounts, gifts or other incentives for reviews, selectively invite only satisfied customers, or discourage negative feedback. Review staff instructions alongside the printed invitation. Neutral wording should leave customers free to decide whether, when and what to write.

Send a location-ready quotation brief

Include the format, number of locations, quantity per location, preferred dimensions, artwork, placement conditions and delivery date. Supply a non-sensitive example link and state whether encoding is shared or location-specific; agree the transfer method before sending the full production list. Ask the quotation to identify sampling, printing, encoding, branch packing and shipping. Define acceptance for appearance, link readback, QR scanning and package labels. Keep an approved physical sample, destination list and file revision after the pilot so replenishment for another branch follows the same checked specification.
